The Spring Session of Chatterboxes is now open for registration. This is great program combines Speech/Language Therapy with Occupational Therapy, to develop and strengthen skills of young students from SK to Grade 2/3. Chatterboxes aims to have children interact with each other, and work on essential skills needed in a school/social setting. After each 1 hr class, the therapists will update parents about their child's progress for that night.
The goal of this group is to provide an interactive and social environment that will allow our children to further develop necessary fine motor skills, gross motor skills, as well as elaborate on speech skills. Each child is assessed for fine motor ability and speech levels prior to the course, therefore the clinicians will be able to set specific targets for each child, and work toward achieving those goals during the 8 week program There are 6 children in the group, school grades from SK to Gr2. The subject matter of the sessions focus on school related themes as well as familiar daily situations. Parents are required to remain at the center while their child is in the program. It is a great opportunity to network with other parents and share information.
